VANCOUVER - Just moments after the concluding Olympic ceremonies came to an end, a relaxed President Mac pulled me aside and whispered a mother of a headline into this reporters ear.
Cue the WTF music!
For those not in the know, here is a little back-story to how this idea became an amazing, giant money making reality
For a number of weeks Monday Night Brawl had been somewhat dormant. President Mac was unreachable. The flag-ship show was in jeopardy of fading away. Then came the shocking revelation that EWC President Danny Mac was actually in the middle of a heated court case in New York City.
Seems WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had been bothered by the rise of Monday Night Brawls ratings. Top that off with Friday Night Rampage blowing SmackDown out of the water, and you have one angry Vince McMahon. However it wasn't until Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wrestled Shadow Man at Rumble in the Bronx, that really set Vince off. He went ahead and filed a lawsuit against Mac and the EWC for copyright infringement and a number of other legal mambo-jumbo.
While the case has since been thrown out of court, Vince was able to reclaim the top Monday spot with his brand RAW, which was his priority and goal all along.
Meanwhile, Rampage Managers The Rev and Gladiator were having a somewhat difficult time of there own. Having brought the ratings back to Rampage, they were still missing an edge. An edge that was filled with the enormous contract signing of Moses Lake.
While a good idea from a PR standpoint, it has been a killer move on the finances of Rampage. In-fact despite the huge ratings boost, Rev and Gladiator were on the verge of bankrupting the Rampage division.
So what was Mac to do? Are we about to see the end of both BRAWL and RAMPAGE? Will Mac be forced into a buy-out situation?
None of the above actually. Mac has gone and done the one thing that could surly piss off Vince McMahon more then anything in the world. Effective immediately and making it's debut next week in China will be an all new BRAWL/RAMPAGE Dual show!
One hour BRAWL, One hour RAMPAGE.
Instead of firing Rev and Gladiator for almost sinking Rampage with there ridiculous spending habits, Mac has kept them both on board as Managers on the new and improved Monday program. However, they will both be on a very short leash as Mac has also gone and hired some outside help as two additional General Managers will also be apart of the Monday night show.
While Mac could not be reached for comment, The Rev was able to release the following statement:

"We came... we saw.... we bankrupted half of EWC, and yet STILL we manage to assume control of this company. Of course corporate still has minimal control, but we all know who's running this show now. All the boys in the back, I say suck it up sissies. The real pain is about to begin."
